#SuperbSchools worldwide edchat returns on Sunday 3rd March. This week's chat revolves around students that speak English as an Additional Language (EAL), or as it is described in America, English Language Learners (ELL). Over the last 20 years, the educational landscape has changed dramatically. People are more mobile than ever before. Many teachers, internationally or back in the UK, now regularly teach students that speak multiple languages. On top of this, bilingual schools are becoming more common in the international setting, breaking the conventional mould where the medium of instruction is purely English. We have three crackin' guest hosts this week - Beth Southern (@Bethan_Southern), Jane Scott (@jascjasc) and Rory O'Connor (@roconnor_EAL) - to help lead the chat. Beth is an EAL specialist and the creator of EAL Hub (@eal_hub), Jane is the primary EAL leader at an international school in Malaysia and Rory is an EAL specialist at, British International School Riyadh, where I also work. How do teachers face and overcome some of the associated challenges? Where does a student's first/home language fit into all of this? Join us on Sunday 3rd March. The complete global chat times are located here, with the highlighted regions being:

(withdrawal, intervention, support in class etc.) Q3) How do we ensure EAL students’ needs are being met without adding the stigma of the #ELL / #EAL label?
